If you’re anything like most Pilates studio owners, you started the year with big goals - perhaps those included more clients, stronger retention, streamlined systems, maybe even some well-deserved CEO time in your calendar.
Then January turned into June.
Sound familiar?
Here’s the good news: You still have six whole months to create powerful growth - and a mid-year review is your best way to reset your focus and get there.
Consider this your guide!
How to conduct a meaningful mid-year review
Productivity tips for busy studio owners
How to choose where to focus next
As a teacher and studio owner, you’re likely spending most of your time in the business - teaching, supporting clients, managing the day-to-day.
But sustainable growth happens when you take time to work on the business.
And- let’s be honest - it feels really good to stop spinning and start steering.
You don’t need a fancy workbook or hours of free time (though if you want one - let me know!!). You just need a quiet hour, access to your KPI reports, and a notebook or doc.
What accomplishments, big or small, have you had this year?
What’s improved in your business? Revenue? Retention? Team?
Don’t skip this part. It sets the tone for positive reflection and awareness of your progress.
Where are you stuck?
What’s draining your time/energy with little return?
Are there systems or processes that are outdated?
Are they still relevant?
What’s complete? What’s in progress?
What no longer fits your vision?
Lead generation: Are new leads consistent?
Conversion: Are intro offers converting to long-term clients?
Retention: Are clients staying? For how long?
Revenue trends: Is income tracking with goals?
How much time are you spending teaching vs. leading the business?
Are you allocating time on your calendar to work ON your business?
Let’s face it: You have a LOT on your plate. So, the goal isn’t to do more - it’s to do what matters.
90 minutes per week, non-negotiable, for strategy, reviewing KPIs, and planning.
Each week, identify your top 3 priorities - the tasks that will drive growth or streamline operations. Focus there first.
Batch-create social media posts or emails 2-4 weeks at a time to avoid daily content scramble.
If a task can be automated (booking, reminders, emails), set it up. If it can be delegated, empower your team.
Notice when you work best - schedule deep work during those times. Say no to non-essential meetings.
Once you’ve reflected, the magic question is: Where should you focus for the next 6 months?
You can’t do everything. So pick 1–3 key focus areas.
→ Focus on marketing and lead generation.
→ Optimize your client journey and membership experience.
→ Build out automations and systems (or consider hiring an extra pair of hands).
A mid-year review isn’t about perfection. It’s about clarity and regaining momentum.
You are allowed to shift goals. You are allowed to let go of what no longer serves your business. You are allowed to say no to busywork.
What matters is taking time to pause, reflect, and realign - so the second half of your year supports the business (and life) you’re building.
You’ve got this.
Now go grab that iced coffee and your favorite notebook - it’s time for your mid-year reset!
