About Natalie Clough and LifeBody Studio
Nathalie Clough is the founder of LifeBody Studio, a Classical Pilates studio and education platform based in Barnes, London.
With over 20 years of movement experience and a background in sports science, Nathalie’s approach to Pilates is centered around education, structure and progression. Her work focuses on helping people understand their bodies properly, rather than simply moving through workouts.
LifeBody was built to bridge the gap between traditional Classical Pilates education and the modern wellness industry. Combining full apparatus Pilates, intelligent programming and high-level teaching, the studio has become known for its highly personalized approach and strong focus on long-term body change.
Alongside running LifeBody, Nathalie works as a Pilates advisor and consultant for Soho House, supporting the development and evolution of their Pilates offering across UK health clubs. Her work includes teacher education, programming, apparatus consultation and helping raise the standard of Pilates teaching within luxury wellness spaces.
Nathalie is passionate about preserving the integrity of the Classical Pilates system while making it more accessible, less intimidating and more clearly understood. Her teaching style blends depth and technical understanding with warmth, humor and simplicity, helping clients and teachers feel confident within the method.
LifeBody offers private sessions, small group apparatus classes, online programming and a comprehensive teacher training program is designed to create analytical, confident and highly skilled teachers.
The studio philosophy is simple:
“Pilates that actually works.
Education. Structure. Progress."
Why Gratz?

The studio currently includes an Universal Reformer (& jump board), Cadillac, Wunda Chair, Studio Wall Unit, Spine Corrector and Pedi Pole.
For us, Gratz represents authenticity and integrity within the Classical Pilates system.
The apparatus is not just beautiful, it teaches differently. The feedback, tension and precision allow both teachers and clients to fully experience the method the way it was intended.
As a studio focused on preserving and progressing Classical Pilates education, having apparatus that supports that standard is incredibly important to us.
What inspired you to open LifeBody?

I wanted to create a space that respected the depth of the Classical Pilates system while also making people feel welcome within it.
My own early experience of Pilates often felt overwhelming and intimidating. There was so much terminology, so many cues and an unspoken expectation that you should already understand what was happening.
When I trained, I promised myself I would teach differently.
I wanted people to feel educated, supported and included, whether they were complete beginners, athletes, post-natal clients or experienced movers.
LifeBody was built around the idea that Pilates should not feel elitist or confusing. It should feel intelligent, progressive and transformational.
What makes your approach different?
We teach Pilates as a system, not as random workouts.
That means understanding progression, apparatus, order, breath, mechanics and why exercises exist in the first place.
At LifeBody we use the full studio apparatus because each piece teaches the body something different. The goal is not simply to make people sweat or feel exhausted. It is to help them move better, understand their bodies and create lasting change.
The aesthetics are the result.
Education is the method.
