Brett Howard
Brett Howard is an internationally recognized Classical Pilates instructor, educator, and studio owner known for his deep commitment to preserving Joseph Pilates’ original method.
Brett is the Director of Education and a Senior Teacher of Teachers for Classical Pilates USA and the owner and director of The Pilates Haus in Jersey City, New Jersey.
Brett was certified by the New York Pilates Studio® Teacher Certification Program under the guidance of Romana Kryzanowska in 1998 and has trained extensively with several renowned Pilates elders and master teachers, including Mary Bowen, Jay Grimes, Lolita San Miguel, Bob Liekens, Sari Mejia Santo, Kathy Corey, and Steve Giordano. Widely respected for his depth of knowledge, Brett is especially recognized for his expertise in Joseph Pilates’ archival exercises, anatomy, biomechanics, and classical teacher education.
In addition to teaching workshops and certification programs internationally, Brett is a co-author of Pilates for Children and Adolescents and a contributing essay author for Voices of Classical Pilates. He has also been featured in The Pilates Method of Body Conditioning and contributed to numerous Pilates publications and educational platforms, including Pilates Anytime and Pilatesology.
Originally trained as a dancer, Brett holds a Master’s degree in Dance Education from New York University and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance from SUNY Purchase College Conservatory of Dance. Today, he continues to teach and mentor instructors around the world, helping preserve and advance the integrity of the Classical Pilates method.
