Refining a Teacher's Eye in the Pilates Method with Dorothee Vandewalle

Burlingame, California | September 18–20, 2026

Master Teacher Trainer Dorothee Vandewalle is returning to UPPilates Burlingame for a special Continuing Education Weekend in the Classical Pilates Method. With decades of experience and a reputation for developing exceptional teachers, Dorothee will guide participants in sharpening their observation skills, refining their teaching decisions, and learning to let the Pilates apparatus do the teaching. The weekend focuses on developing a stronger teacher's eye — observing more, cueing less, and creating sessions where clients can truly move, learn, and succeed.

This event is for Pilates teachers, teacher trainees, studio owners, and dedicated students looking to deepen their understanding of the Classical method. We encourage anyone looking to elevate their practice or teaching to take advantage of this incredible opportunity!

Seeing & Teaching on the Reformer

Discover how the Reformer can provide valuable feedback for both teacher and student while refining your ability to see movement patterns and make more effective teaching decisions.
Refining Control Without Support
(2-Hour Workshop)

Develop a deeper understanding of control, organization, and precision through the Chairs and Barrels. Learn how these apparatus challenge stability, strength, alignment, and movement awareness while refining your ability to teach with clarity and purpose. Explore how reduced support creates opportunities for greater feedback, improved body organization, and stronger movement patterns.

Day 2: Sunday, September 20th, 2026

  • 9:00 AM - Group Mat Pilates

Prepare for the day's workshop with a Classical Mat workout emphasizing connection, control, and precision.
