The smooth carriage movement and responsive spring tension create a connection between practitioner and apparatus that is both grounding and empowering. The 3 Gear Bar adjusts the spring angle to refine resistance and carriage travel.
The carriage is padded with Gratz standard foam, offering a perfect balance of comfort and feedback, firm enough to maintain connection and alignment, yet supportive and comfortable for clients. A padded, textured Footbar Cover enhances comfort and grip, and adjustable leather straps ensure consistent resistance for seamless transitions.

For added stability and floor protection, every frame includes adhesive felt and rubber furniture pads that attach securely to the base of each Reformer leg:

Felt pads are ideal for hard surfaces such as wood or tile, allowing you to slide or reposition the Reformer more easily.

Rubber pads provide stronger grip and prevent movement — perfect for studios that prefer the Reformer to stay firmly in place.
While a skilled practitioner can work on any Pilates Reformer length, it’s helpful to choose a size that supports the widest range of clients, especially when working with different body types, heights, and experience levels.
You can always fine-tune workouts by using the tools you already have such as adjusting gears or utilizing the Spacer or TV Box for shorter clients.For a diverse client base (skill level and height), Gratz provides these general guidelines:
- 80": Individuals under 5'8", longer Reformers can be too long for these individuals.
- 86": Individuals 5'8" and 6'2", this commonly used by shorter individuals without issue. This is the most popular choice for studios with a wide range of client heights and skill levels.
- 89": Individuals over 6'2".
