Gloria Gasperi
Gloria Gasperi is a Classical Pilates teacher, educator, and founder of Studio Pilates and Pilates e-motion in Sarzana, Italy.
With a background in competitive sports and a degree in Movement Sciences, Gloria has dedicated more than two decades to the study, practice, and teaching of the authentic Classical Pilates method.
Gloria first discovered Pilates in Boston in 1999 and immediately felt a strong connection to the work. Her search for a comprehensive Classical Pilates education led her from Europe to the United States, where she completed her Comprehensive Certification under Clare Dunphy Hemani, a student of Romana Kryzanowska. She continued her studies with Clare Dunphy and Pamela Garcia while deepening her understanding of the original method.
In 2012, Gloria began studying at Vintage Pilates in Los Angeles under Jay Grimes and Sandy Shimoda. She completed Jay Grimes’ highly selective The Work program and was later chosen by Jay as one of a small group of teachers from around the world to participate in Teaching the Work, an advanced mentorship program focused on refining the art of teaching Classical Pilates. The respect for the original work, the importance of movement as a tool for healing and education, and the development of an instructor’s unique teaching voice remain central influences in her work today.
In 2013, Gloria founded Pilates e-motion, a teacher training school dedicated to helping instructors develop a deep understanding of the Pilates system while cultivating their own authentic approach to teaching. She continues to organize international educational events, teach workshops, and mentor instructors around the world. Her teaching has taken her throughout Italy and to countries including the United States, Australia, Thailand, Vietnam, Portugal, Switzerland, England, Brazil, Denmark, and Slovenia. As Pilates e-motion continues to grow, Gloria is also expanding the school’s international presence, including new branches in Asia.
Known for her passion, integrity, and commitment to the original method, Gloria believes Pilates is far more than exercise, it is a transformative experience that connects body, mind, and spirit. She is also a featured instructor on Pilatesology, sharing her knowledge and approach with the global Classical Pilates community. Today, she is recognized internationally for her thoughtful teaching style, dedication to lifelong learning, and efforts to preserve and expand Classical Pilates education throughout Europe and around the world.
